About R2R KDA Gina
Well here I go again.... Doing something "crazy"!
As many of you know, nearly six years ago I donated a kidney to one of my closest friends, Leslee, who has Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS)—a rare kidney disease that causes scarring and leads to end-stage kidney failure. There’s currently NO CURE for FSGS.
We were part of an 8-way living donor kidney exchange through Tampa General Organ Transplant Hospital. I wont elaborate here but Im happy to talk to anyone with questions. I’m proud to say that both Leslee and I are thriving today—healthy and living life to the fullest!
To help encourage more people to consider living donation, I joined Kidney Donor Athletes (KDA), a group dedicated to showing the world that you can still do EPIC things after donating.
This October, a group of fellow KDA's will take on an incredible challenge: hiking across the Grand Canyon in one day—22 miles total, from the Sout rim to North rim, crossing the Colorado River!
I’m raising funds to support our mission and raise awareness about the life-saving power of living donation. We’ve already given the ultimate gift—a kidney—and now we’re pushing our physical limits to prove that living donors can lead strong, adventurous, active lives.
Please consider donating to this cause. Your contribution is tax deductible and helps educate, inspire, and potentially save lives.
Every step is a step toward saving lives.
